A patients card may decline for a handful of reasons, this explains the 5 instances for when a card may decline.
Insufficient Funds
The patients card in unable to complete the transaction due to their account not having the required funds for the membership renewal payment. We recommend you contact the member to find a way to get them back on track.
Incorrect Number
The Credit Card number was incorrectly entered. This may be due to wrong information given or a manual typing error. Please have the member provide the card number again.
Incorrect Expiration Date
The Credit Card expiration date was incorrectly entered, or perhaps it may already be expired. This may be due to wrong information given or a manual typing error. Please have the member provide the card number again.
Incorrect CVC
The Credit Card code was incorrectly entered. This may be due to wrong information given or a manual typing error. Please have the member provide the card CVC code again.
Declined
The less clear of the declined reasons. This message will be provided for a variety of reasons that need to be check with the involved member. The card may be "Declined" due to a credit limit, stop payment, unknown charge feature, and potentially more reasons among the variety of declined instances.
The first 4 reasons are very clear in what issue the payment processor has with the card information: either insufficient funds or incorrect information.
With the "Declined" reason, a practice will only be able to right the payment by contacting the customer to ensure the payment can process appropriately.
