What is the "cash" payment option?

In some cases a practice may have a patient that wants to pay their membership fee via cash/check. This option does not equate to an automated recurring payment for your practice.

 

The cash payment option is available to practices for very specific circumstances. Each practice should determine when to allow cash members as we do NOT recommend using this option. 

Cash payments are not recommended for multiple reasons:

1. Cash payments have to be given directly to the front office, meaning that the patient has to come into the office each time their payment is due. As a result, this eliminates automated recurring payments.

2. Office members are responsible for contacting and following up with patients to make sure payment is collected, as well as documenting those payments. This will place a burden on the front office staff to keep track of these members (outside of the software).

3. BoomCloud is optimized to track and manage your members payments. With cash patients this core feature is bypassed, since the software is unable to renew cash payments. Without automated payments, the report and dashboard features will have major inconsistencies, creating more work for the practice to correctly calculate the membership program revenue.
